Police Chief Daniel Valadas and Fire Chief Ryan Pease report that Ludlow Police and Fire Departments responded to two motor vehicle accidents overnight.
On Tuesday, June 27, at approximately 11:22 p.m. Ludlow Central Dispatch received multiple 911 calls of a single-car crash along Center Street.
Upon arrival, Ludlow Police and Fire observed a gray sedan upside–down on its roof. There had been two occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, one of whom was extricated by bystanders prior to first responders’ arrival.
One occupant sustained serious injuries and one occupant sustained what are believed to be minor injuries, both were transported to a local area hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Ludlow Police Department.
Later, on Wednesday, June 28, at approximately 4:05 a.m. Ludlow Police and Fire responded to West Street for a report of a tractor-trailer traveling westbound that drove off the Massachusetts Turnpike onto West Street in Ludlow.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to an area hospital for his injuries.
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) assisted at the scene as the tractor-trailer leaked an estimated 50 gallons of diesel fuel and eight gallons of engine oil as a result of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
