Ludlow Police and Fire Departments to Host Annual Public Safety Open House Oct. 20
LUDLOW — Police Chief Paul Madera and Fire Chief Ryan Pease are pleased to announce that the two departments will be hosting their annual public safety open house next month.
WHEN:
Sunday, Oct. 20, from 1-4 p.m.
WHERE:
Ludlow Public Safety Complex, 612 Chapin St., Ludlow
WHAT:
This free event is open to people of all ages and will include fun and education with several displays and demonstrations.
“We have an exciting day planned with all sorts of activities for the whole family,” Chief Madera said. “We hope to see a large turnout and that everyone has lots of fun.”
The fire department will have:
- Vehicle/apparatus displays
- Thermal imaging cameras
- “Sparky” the Fire Dog
- Popcorn
- Balloons
- Fire prevention jeopardy game
- Escape maze learning tool
- Hydraulic extrication tool demonstration at 2 p.m.
- Ice/cold water rescue display
- Tanker truck demonstration
- Fire prevention information
The police department will feature:
- Vehicles on display
- Special Response Team display
- K9 demonstration
- Dispatch center tour
- Special police program
- School Resource Officer
- Detective bureau internet and fraud prevention information
- Patrol division
- Ludlow Cares Coalition
- Michael Dias Foundation
“This is an event that we look forward to all year,” Chief Pease said. “It’s a great way to get to know some of our residents while also being able to provide some important safety information.”
The open house will happen rain or shine.
