Public Service Announcement (COVID-19 SCAMS)
Your Health Is In Your Hands
I would encourage all members of the community to keep up with their daily habits of proper hand-washing and ‘social-distancing’ during this declared State of Emergency.
If you have to go out at all, I would suggest that these trips be for your basic necessities; therefore, reducing your chances of exposure to this virus.
I would also remind members of the public that if they are in a position of taking care of loved ones who are sick, whether they are suspected of having the virus or not, that they should also isolate themselves as much as possible from the public even if they are healthy. It is possible that even a healthy individual could be unknowingly carrying the virus and possibly infecting others. This is the whole premise behind the effort to ‘social-distance’.
Please take care of yourselves and look after one another, including any neighbors that may need help. How we choose to carry ourselves throughout these times, defines our community character.
Finally, I want to thank everyone whose efforts to help their community during this time do not go unnoticed, as they are inspiring acts and are truly appreciated by our Officers.

HOME BASE NO SHAVE
The Ludlow Police Department will be participating in the Home Base No-Shave 2019 campaign in support of Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Program. The rules are simple: Each participant donates or fundraises $100 to forego facial restrictions during the month of November. But, just in case there are additional questions you are itching to ask, please refer to our FAQs below.
• How can we donate?

*Please be sure to include which police department you are supporting. All check
donations will be added to the department’s online fundraising page.
• When are donations due? Can we bring donations to the Shave Off event at Fenway on 12/4?
We’d love to have all donations in before the Shave Off event at Fenway Park on December 4th so that we’re able to announce the total raised and include it on the big check for a photo. You are welcome to bring donations to the event. If you don’t have the funds in-hand, you could always let us know any donations that you are confident we’ll receive so we can add it to the total raised. If donations come in after December 4th, they will still be added to your Department’s page and towards the overall total raised for this year’s campaign.
In 2018, hundreds of first responders and
supporters from across 117 cities and towns
raised more than $276,000 for Home Base
during November. To date, this campaign has
raised over $470,000 to provide critical, lifesaving
care for Veterans and their Families.
