The Records Department is responsible for maintaining and updating all department records and files such as incident and accident reports, parking citations, and Massachusetts civil citations. The Records Department is also responsible for scheduling all firearms licensing and renewals.
You must call or visit us in advance so we can prepare your report in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Massachusetts Public Records Law M.G.L. Ch. 66s.10. which allows the Records Department 10 business days to furnish requested records.
Community members can now obtain a copy of their motor vehicle crash report online at buycrash.com. The fee to access this online service is $10.00, payable by credit card. As always, crash reports are available at our Records Department by request. Crash reports are generally available 3 days after the crash but could be longer.
Firearm Licensing and renewals are by appointment only. Learn more here.
Please call during regular business hours (Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) to schedule an appointment or request a release of an incident or accident report.
