The prosecutorial functions of the Ludlow Police Department fall under the auspices of the Court Officer. The Court Officer serves as the department’s liaison to Hampden District and Superior Courts, as well as to the District Attorney’s Office. The Court Officer is responsible for carrying out the department’s day-to-day prosecutorial duties.
The Court Officer works closely with the District Court Clerk’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office, in the coordination and prosecution of all criminal, non-criminal and civil cases involving the Ludlow Police Department. This entails the scheduling of trials, show cause hearings, and magistrate hearings in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
